This year marks the twentieth anniversary of James Muilenburg’s 1968 presidential address to the Society of Biblical Literature. Since that clarion call, often heralded as the beginning of modern rhetorical criticism in Biblical studies, a variety of studies have emerged. Sources for rhetorical criticism, both ancient and modern, as well as the resultant studies are scattered in a variety of literature. The following classified bibliography is an effort to compile as complete a list of these works as possible to facilitate further research.
