New Warden

Since Dr. Morris left in January to take up his appointment in Melbourne, the Reverend F. D. Kidner has been appointed as Warden and will take up his duties in August. The House owes a great deal to Dr. Morris for his efficient yet unobtrusive manage- ment of its affairs and especially for his fine work in re-classifying the Library and in adding many volumes which fill gaps in the collection. It is encouraging, too, that while so busily occupied in these duties Dr. Morris also found time to write a number of books and articles both of scholarly value and of wider appeal. We wish both Dr. and Mrs. Morris, who endeared herself to residents at the House, a happy and prosperous term of service in Melbourne.

Mr. Kidner has been Senior Tutor for thirteen years at Oak Hill Theological College, Southgate, and is a specialist in Hebrew and Old Testament studies. He commenced his career at the Royal College of Music, then came to Cambridge, at first reading Economics, then Theology at Christ’s College and at Ridley Hall (1938-41). Before becoming a member of the Oak Hill staff, he served for ten years in Sevenoaks and Felsted. Recently he has been occupied in writing the Tyndale Old Testament Commentary on the Book of Proverbs, now about to be published.
