He was chairman of the New Testament Studies department for twenty-four years and director of the Ph.D. Studies program for twenty- seven years. He held the rank of distinguished professor since 2000. Also Dr. Hoehner served on the editorial staff of Bibliotheca Sacra between 1969 and 1974. He was highly respected and deeply loved and appreciated by his students and fellow faculty members.
Dr. Hoehner wrote three books and contributed numerous articles to Bible encyclopedias and many essays for multiple-author books.
