Editorial Comment:

One of the most significant discoveries of recent times, we believe, is the Josephus passage reported on page 75. This passage appears to provide solid extra-Biblical evidence of Jesus’ ministry on earth. Interestingly, the authenticity of the passage is being stoutly defended by two Jewish scholars.

We have seen nothing more on Dr. José O’Callaghan’s sensational papyrus identifications beyond what was reported in our last issue. For the information of our readers, an English translation of Dr. O’Callaghan’s original article is now available. It has been published as a supplement to the June 1972 issue of the JOURNAL OF BIBLICAL LITERATURE.

Beginning with this issue, we are including a map of Israel (page 96) to show the location of sites mentioned in BIBLE AND SPADE.

Also with this issue we are introducing a program whereby individuals or groups can become sales representatives for BIBLE AND SPADE and earn a 20% commission. The plan is described on page 89.

We are grateful for the efforts of many of our subscribers in promoting BIBLE AND SPADE. With your continued help, we’ll be a success in no time! It is our prayer that BIBLE AND SPADE will become a significant and useful publication in the Christian community.
