In Memoriam
Many times in Bible and Spade we have referred to the writings of G. Ernest Wright, Parkman Professor of Divinity, Harvard University, and President of the American Schools of Oriental Research. Dr. Wright passed away on August 29, 1974. In memory of his significant contribution to biblical studies, we are reprinting the following article, somewhat abridged, which originally appeared in The Biblical Archaeologist, Vol. VI, No. 1, February, 1943.
