Growth In Service

Central CB. Seminary has been brought into existence by God to train preachers and missionaries. Those men of God who set this Seminary on its course specified that it should serve present day Christian workers as well as prepare future laborers for the vineyard. Though the primary business of the Seminary is providing training, Central C. B. Seminary has been able to minister in several other ways, and during the past year these services have grown both in quantity and number.

Semin-Aires

A quartet from the Seminary, calling themselves the Semin-Aires, has provided special music for several local churches and special meetings. Pictured here is the group as it assembled for the Central Regional meetings of the Conservative Baptist Association, held in Decatur, Illinois, this year. From left to right Dr. Richard V. Clear-waters, President of the Seminary; William Branda, of Grand Blanc, Michigan; Harold Emery, of Brainerd, Minnesota; Lyman Huckins, of Chillicothe, Illinois; Arno Weniger, Jr., of San Francisco, California; and Warren Vanhetloo, Dean of the Seminary. Vance Bradford, of Denver, Colorado, is at the piano.

Student practical work representative for this year has been Ivan Meed, of Bristol, New Brunswick, Canada. Response to these services has been very appreciative.

These include such aspects as studies on Baptist distinctives, on the local church, on the Conservative Baptist position, on premillennialism, as well as material connected with the training offered by Central C. B. Seminary.

Between August and December over forty thousand pieces of this literature were provided free to those who requested it. The demand has been so great that at almost any time two or three items have had to be back-ordered while waiting for additional reprints.

Since the demand for this literature has so much exceeded the contributions designated for it, and since Central C. B. Seminary does not wish to engage too heavily in printing activities, it has seemed best to begin charging for the paper, supplies, and handling. The Seminary will continue to receive contributions toward this mini...
