Church Covenant

“And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul” (II Chron. 15:12).

Having, as we trust, been brought by divine grace,1 seriously, deliberately and forever to give up ourselves in faith and love and holy obedience to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,2 accepting the Lord Jehovah to be our God,3 Jesus Christ to be our Prophet,4 Priest,5 and King,6 and the Holy Spirit to be our Sanctifier,7 Comforter,8 and Guide,9 and having been baptized upon a profession of our faith,10 we do now solemnly and joyfully covenant with each other to walk together in church relationship, with brotherly love, to the honor and glory of God.11 And we do in His strength,12 engage:

That we will exercise a Christian care and watchfulness over each other, faithfully admonish and entreat one another, as occasion may require.13

That we will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together:14 nor neglect the great duty of prayer for ourselves and others.15

That we will endeavor to bring up such as may at any time be under our care in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and by a pure and lovely example to win our kindred and acquaintances to the Saviour, to holiness and eternal life.16

That we. will strive to advance this church, in knowledge, holiness and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church and the relief of the poor,17 and the spread of the Gospel through all nations.
