Noah’s Ark — Pitched and Parked by Nathan M. Meyer (Winona Lake, IN: B. M. H. Books, 1977, 112 pages, paper, $3.00). Reviewed by Dr. Rolland D. McCune.

This book is “an attempt to provide answers to the questions people ask regarding the story of the Ark” (p. 7). The author has been a schoolteacher, seminary professor and pastor. Presently he is engaged in Bible Conference work.

The book is in two parts: part one deals with the Genesis Flood and part two the search for Noah’s ark. Meyer believes in a universal deluge as well as a strict chronology from Adam to Noah. He also believes the ark is now encased in ice on modern Mt. Ararat, and he is convinced ±hat it will be found sooner or later. He gives a strong implication that God will reveal the ark during the last days of the Church Age as a final warning that the end is near (p. 97). The reviewer generally had negative reactions to the second part of the book.

An extremely valuable contribution of the book was a listing of all the data concerning the search for the ark, the reports of sighting the ark, etc., in chronological sequence (pp. 77-83).

The book is interesting and is recommended to those who want to keep abreast of the continuing search for Noah’s ark.

From what the reviewer has seen, the Old Testament appears to be a good translation. It is written in clear English and does not take liberties with the text. A list of the translators and literary consultants is available from the New York International Bible Society if one is interested in knowing.

The reviewer noticed only a couple of minor areas in the portion on Daniel that could be improved (such as “days to come” for “latter days” in 2:28). Also italics should have been employed where the translators have supplied words to make good idiom.

Difficult Bible Questions Answered by George A. Sandison (Grand Rapids Baker Book House 1976, $2.95, cloth, 563 pp). Reviewed by Dr. George W. Dollar.

Quite often Christians wished that they had a small inexpensive paperback which would list for them many Bible questions which come up with neat and concise answers. This handbook is an attempt to do that. There are 555 questions and answers; in most case...
