Mind Sciences by Todd Ehrenborg, Grand Rapids: Zondervan Publishing House, 1995, 96 pp., paperback, $5.99
Under the editorship of Alan W. Gomes, Zondervan publishers are coming out with a series of booklets dealing with cults and various religious movements. In the First Series they will deal with Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormonism, the New Age, Satanism, the Unification Church and the Masonic Lodge. Another series will continue to examine other cults and religions.
The format is well crafted with an ideal layout for quick reference and fast reading. Small visual keys placed on the margins of the pages help guide the reader through the arguments of Mind Science all the way to biblical answers. Excellent material is packed into the 96 pages. It exposes the philosophies of the Mind Science groups, but also gives selected scriptural verses for reaching those who are trapped in these webs of deception. Salvation through Christ is explained with a warmth and a personal touch.
These booklets are absolutely perfect for Sunday school classes, home Bible classes, and youth groups from ninth grade all the way through college. Because there is so much deception in the culture today, adults as well should go through this series.
The booklet also does a great job giving proper quote references so that those who wish to argue can ascertain that the author is fair in his presentation. Without hesitation, this series can be recommended as a great tool for presenting biblical truth to those trapped in Cults and Mind Science organizations.

It has an incredibly different twist. And like a magnet, the chapters pull the reader into the pages for an historic and prophetic adventure, all written by outstanding and godly biblical scholars. In a certain sense, the book is more than its title. The volume goes into the theological and prophetic promises concerning Israel given in the Word of God. These promises, and their implications even for our day, are amplified and made exciting to study.
In the Forward to the book, Moises Rosen says that, as the project for the book began, each of the contributing scholars were asked, “Who is Israel today, and how is Israel different from the church?” This s...
