Scripture commands believers to take “every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). This command is set within the context of intellectual warfare. Indeed, believers are in an intellectual battle with Satan and the world in every area of life. 2 Corinthians 10:5 also speaks of “destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God.” This is a passage that refers to non-Christian intellectual thought. Believers are commanded to engage in intellectual warfare and discernment in order to provide a framework enabling them to discern what is biblical thought versus non-biblical thought. This is a task commanded for every believer, not just those in acidemia, but especially those who are pastors and teachers. Right thought is required for one to practice right behavior. This is the purpose for the Interdisciplinary Journal on Biblical Authority. Contributors desire to develop and articulate the biblical worldview as they interact with various issues from a biblical perspective.

Based upon the previously stated premise, we hope to engage in as many areas of thought as possible in service to our Lord intellectually. Proverbs 2:6
