Steven R. Cook has recently joined the adjunct faculty at Chafer Theological Seminary, and we are pleased to present his article on habitual sin in the believer. One of the Chafer Seminary’s distinctives is that we adhere to the freeness of God’s grace, which means it is possible for a believer to continue struggling with an ongoing sin. Dr. Cook has effectively demonstrated this point and offers practical advice for Christians to overcome habitual sin.
Andrea Knauer, a student at Chafer, has written the article “A Biblical Approach to Stewarding Creation in a Fallen World.” She holds a degree in conservation biology and approaches this topic from a dispensationalist perspective. The question of creation stewardship is on the minds of many Christians right now, so Knauer’s insight will be helpful to those in the fields of apologetics, cultural engagement, and worldview development.
Nicholas J. Morganti is also a Chafer student. He serves in Utah, where an intimate familiarity with Mormonism is required. He has researched replacement theology among quasi-Christian cults (not just the Latter-day Saints), and his findings are quite revealing.
This issue of Pneumatikos also features an article on social ontology that critiques Abraham Kuyper’s sphere-sovereignty model and advocates for the dispensational divine institutions model. There is also a brief note in response to Lisbeth Fried’s article, “Who Was Nehemiah ben Hacaliah?”
Dustin Burlet has reviewed a recent commentary on Genesis 1–11, and Clay Ward has reviewed a book on the life of King David. There is also a review of a book defending orthodox Christology, as well as another on non-canonical influences on the New Testament.
