The Master’s Seminary In Review
1996-1998
The following “State of the Seminary” report highlights God’s blessings over the past few years at TMS. I trust you will be encouraged as we have been.
Faculty
In the last two school years (1996–1997; 1997–1998), TMS has added three full-time professors whose terminal degrees focus on the disciplines they teach: William Barrick, Th.D. (OT); F. David Farnell, Ph.D. (NT); and Michael Grisanti, Ph.D. (OT). The next three faculty (1999, 2000, 2002) are envisioned to be young men at the beginning of their teaching career (two have already been identified). One faculty member (without a terminal degree) departed under positive circumstances (12/96). Of the twelve faculty members who would be expected to hold a terminal degree, 75% (9) hold terminal degrees, 16 2/3% (2) are ABD, and only 8 1/3% (1) does not hold or is not working toward a terminal degree.
Finances
Every year for the past five years, TMS has generated a modest surplus in the General Fund.
Since 1992, over $5M has been raised in the Bold New Venture Capital campaign for the Library and Faculty Office Building. Additionally, more than $900,000 has been raised and awarded in scholarships.
Facilities
By mid-April 1998, TMS will occupy the $6M, 32,000-square foot, new Library and Faculty Office Building. For the first time in our 12-year history, the faculty will be together in one area and TMS will have access to all the Library holdings (1/3 previously in storage). Also, the students will have a proper student lounge.
Student Enrollment
TMS has enjoyed twelve consecutive years of enrollment growth. Prospects are extremely bright for this trend to continue through the next 3-5 years.
